Shoot For the Bronzer

It's summer and a great part of summer is a nice healthy tanned look.  One of the best ways you can get it is with a good bronzer  that is not too light or dark for your skin tone.   Bronzers can help you add a healthy glow or even help you contour your face.
For this time of year I honestly recommend them to add that glow.  There are two proper ways to apply bronzer, the first (and best in my opinion) is to start off with applying it to the apples of your cheeks and work your way to your temples.  After you have applied it there you can continue on applying to spots on your face where the sun naturally hits more (lightly on your nose, chin, and forehead).   The second way of applying your bronzer is a little similar, you can start at the top of your forehead (near your hairline) and sweep down in a "C" shape to your cheeks, and repeat on the other side.  Remember if you apply too much or use too dark of a shade you could be in the next casting session for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as an Um-pa Lumpa.
This summer I have found a few bronzers I am in love with, the one I wear almost every day being Lorac's TANtalizer Baked Bronzer,

but of course I am still in love with Urban Decay's Baked Bronzer Baked ,

and a third recomendation I would have to make is Tarte's Mineral Powder Matte Waterproof Bronzer (amazing if you want to go to the beach or pool on these hot days!!!!)!

Arch You Excited?

Support your arches girls, if you have good ones let them rock this summer!  Perfect brows are always a huge desire for most women, and for me I love my arches but I utterly hate how thin and sparse my eyebrows are.  If you find yourself feeling the same as me then this blog goes out to you.
Cosmopolitan has recently published on their site 7 of this years summer trends, and the second one you will see is Brow Gel.  Personally I hate the feeling of brow gel after it dries, it just feels to cumbersome on my face.  What I love to use to help set my brows for the day is brow wax.  Tip: Not too much, unless you desire the look of weird lines instead of eyebrows.  But before I apply the wax I like to bend a few shades of brow power, to match my natural color, and fill in my brows.  Also after I have filled them in I like to go over my arches in a shade to two shades deeper to give them more depth.
Currently I have been using Too Face's Brow Envy kit.  Tip: This kit also includes the best set of tweezers I have ever owned, I thought I lost them once and almost went crazy trying to find just a new pair seeming my kit isn't old.  This kit includes three different shades: Blonde, Brunette, and Highlighter.  I mix between Blonde and Brunette to get the perfect color and I suggest you do the same if you try this kit out.  Nice thing is this kit almost includes several other items to help keep your brows looking fab: Setting Wax, Brow Pencil, Tweezers (How I Heart These), Applicator Brush, Shaping Tool Brush,  Templates (to help achieve the perfect shape), and instructions to get you going.
I have used everything this kit includes, but the templates I only have tried a few times seeming my brows are neither the length or the fullness they are designed for.  I also keep in habit of trimming my brow hair and every couple of months I do love to visit my local arch specialist at ULTA, where she works her magic making my arches perfect.

Live Free Get Naked!

I am dedicating this post of Urban Decay's Naked Eye Shadow Palatte.  This product has become a staple in my everyday routine, and is one of the most sot after palates UD has.  The Naked Palatte consists of twelve shades: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, and Gunmetal.  You also get a sample size of UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion with this palatte, which is a girls best friend, and UD also threw in a shadow brush.  The Virgin, Naked, Buck, and Hustle shades offer a matted finish.  While the other shades give you some shimmer to your look.  I love this palatte because it offers so much versitility for your style, you can use it for your basic work looks or going out to a formal even.  I will be posting some swatches of these shades, so let yourself be free and get NAKED!

Eye It Up

Primer! Primer! Primer!  It's the best investment you can ever make.  Primer will hold you shadow on so eye shadow won't budge an inch.  I have used several different types of primers for my eyes and hopefully through my trial and errors you will find the best to fit your needs.

Urban Decay makes, what I think, by far the best on the market.  There are four different shades you can get in the Primer Potions to help fit into what ever style you are going for.  Of course there is the original, which is a basic almost translucent shade, this works the best for almost any style.  There is also Eden, which is a bold beige color, that also can work for almost any style.  These two shades do not offer any shimmer to your look.  Then getting into their two shades that do offer shimmer you can choose between Greed and Sin.  Greed offers almost a gold hue with a faint shimmer in the look, while Sin gives you the shimmer but almost in a bronzed pink tone.  For the best result using UD Primer Potion you will want to apply from your lash line to your brow, and it will offer endless stay to your shadows and all day they look fresh.  I have even gone to bed without taking my makeup off, oopsy I know that is a no no, and woken up the next morning still having my eye shadow in place.  I absolutely love this product and recommend it be added to any woman's collection.

Another primer I have used is Benefit Stay Don't Stray.  I was turned onto this product by an arch specialist in my local Ulta store.  It does the job, but take just a little more time to apply.  Be careful while using the pump not to push it down all the way or you will have a lot of product going to waste.  All you need to do is gently tap the pump several times until you have a little of the primer on the back of your hand.  To apply it you will just want to use three small dots on the top of your eye and three small dots on the bottom of your eye, then blend them once again from your lash line to your brow.  Stay Don't Stray also can double as a concealer.  I wouldn't recommend using it all the time but if you are in a pinch it works very well.

Smashbox also makes a pretty good primer, not one of my favorites because I don't think it lasted as long.  I like the fact that the Photo Finish Lid Primer does have the brush included on the twist off lid for the product.  I have only used this per getting it in a good deal with their Try It Kit, and also with a few other kits that I have purchased.  Would I buy it by itself?  Probably not, even though I am a HUGE Smashbox fan it just doesn't tickle my fancy as much as others have.

These are only three out on the market now, but there are tons available to choose from.
